The Mozambican energy company Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) attended a Leadership Programme for Directors at Enterprises University of Pretoria (Enterprises UP), led by Prof Ann de Boer – a renowned specialist in Whole Brain® thinking and management. The 14-day programme kicked off with a five-day session hosted in Pretoria. The programme was tailored to the specific needs of EDM, with learning structured specifically for their delegation of directors.
Welcoming the international delegation was Mr Irvin Bogopa, Enterprises UP Executive Manager: Stakeholder Relations, “I am of the belief that as leaders, the decisions that we take today will affect us tomorrow. Your presence here signifies the direction that you wish to take for yourselves and for the future of your organisation.” Mr Fabio Cumbe, Director of the EDM Academy, expressed that the EDM delegation was taking part in the programme “as part of a larger strategic initiative to assist our leaders in the effective management of the organisation. The programme itself carries the appropriate tools to help us in our initiatives towards better management.”
The delegation received a special visit from Mr Deon Herbst, CEO of Enterprises UP. “If we can empower you as leaders, we empower many others in your company, country and beyond,” he explains. “With some of South Africa’s most acclaimed thought leaders on our teams of course leaders and research specialists, we are excited to engage with you in ground-breaking knowledge transfer.”
The interactive programme offered delegates the opportunity to exercise their thinking-on-demand skills, enabling them to capitalise not only on their own thinking preference, but also tapping into the thinking of others. The benefits of this course will have lasting impact, allowing the delegates to learn great tools for the facilitation of change and their overall growth on a personal level.
